Footsole: a full-stack store with an AI shopping assistant

The challenge
Clients often want to see what a custom online store looks like before committing to one. We built Footsole as a working reference store for shoes and sandals that can be adapted to a client's products, brand and payment needs, and to show how AI can help shoppers without putting customer data at risk.
What we did
Footsole is a React and Vite storefront backed by a Node.js, Express and Prisma API on PostgreSQL. Shoppers can search the catalog, pay by card through Stripe or choose cash on delivery, sign in with Google and track their orders. Admins manage products, orders and sales charts in a dashboard, and product images upload straight from the browser to Amazon S3. The AI chatbot runs on Groq and uses function calling to look up a signed-in customer's own orders and recommend top-rated products, with two guardrail layers that screen incoming messages and block prompt leaks. Sessions use secure httpOnly cookies, and the whole stack starts with one Docker Compose command.
